Finally she moved to Los Angeles, California, where she continued to refine her musical styles and ultimately she put together "Lose my Head" along with co-writer Gala. The success of this song opened the doors for additional collaborations and finally led her to release her first album, "Traveling Light". In 2005 she released a single "Can't Behave" from that album. This song also appeared in the soundtrack for the movie Aquamarine OST.
Playboy.com interviewed Courtney Jaye and discussed her music for their "Woman on the Verge" series. Courtney Jaye was also featured on the Internet radio station KGRL as their “Flower-Powered Artist” for July, 2006 and they continuously played her songs for over two months. Her web page at KGRL was totally revamped and posted in December 2006. The revamped page includes EP Review of 'Til It Bleeds, an exclusive interview, and an on-demand video stream of the full Club 20/20 performance last August 2006. The influence of Chris Isaak, Neil Young, The Beatles, and the Brazilian artists Bebel Gilberto and Astrud, including her time in Kauai, Hawaii are so profound on Courtney Jaye that one can see their shades in most of her work. |
